Sardines Canned

If other countries view canned sardines as those-canned-goods-we-commonly-see-in-supermarkets, we in the UK don't. We in this site can confidently say that we English people appreciate them in as much the same degree as chocolates (or probably greater).

The logic behind this "strange" liking (as other races would put it) is simple, really. Canned sardines are processed pilchards. And if there's a kind of fish that's the closest in our hearts, it's the pilchards. Remember the story behind the Tom Bawcock festival? Oh, come on, you should know that!

We also like canned sardines because they're affordable yet very healthy. Pilchards are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. For your information, Omega-3 fatty acids have the ability to regulate and lower cholesterol levels in the blood, as well as improving the ratio of good and bad cholesterol.

Plus, we were born to have taste buds that "appreciate" food in its simplest and slightest flavour. Canned Sardines aren't as MSG-injected as Spam nor as sweet as hell as pork and beans. Canned sardines have just the right taste! Well, perhaps, for our taste buds.

Actually, because our race is so in love with canned sardines, there's an art school based in Cornwall called Newlyn School that made (and continuously makes) numerous works of art about Pilchard fishing and processing. Now, that's indeed true love.
